England head coach Gareth Southgate has responded to reports linking him with the manager's job at Manchester United.
MEN Sport reported this week that the INEOS founder is an admirer of Southgate after impressing with the Three Lions. The former Middlesbrough boss holds a close friendship with both Sir Dave Brailsford and the incoming director of football Dan Ashworth having worked with both men in the FA set-up.
It is understood Erik ten Hag's future at United is up in the air after a disappointing second season in the Premier League. The Manchester Evening News has reported that Ratcliffe is not 100 per cent sold on keeping the Dutchman beyond this season with Champions League qualification and FA Cup triumph needed to keep him employed.

This week, The Daily Star reported that Southgate has become INEOS' top choice to replace Ten Hag, but the England boss has hit out at the reports. In his pre-match press conference before the international friendly against Brazil at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, Southgate was asked about the links to United.
He responded: "I think there are two things from my point of view. One is that I am the England manager. I have got one job, basically, to try and deliver a European Championship and clearly before that two important games this week.
"And the second thing is that Manchester United have a manager and I think it is always completely disrespectful when there is any speculation about a manager who is in place.
"I am president of the LMA (League Manager’s Association) so I don’t have any time for that sort of thing really."
