Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer has said Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo should 'definitely' be included in the England squad for the European Championship in Germany this summer.
Mainoo made his debut for the Three Lions against Brazil last Saturday evening, stepping off the bench with 75 minutes on the clock. Manager Gareth Southgate then handed him his full debut three days later for the 2-2 draw with Belgium and he scooped the Man of the Match award.
Deployed in midfield alongside Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham, the youngster excelled, putting himself in the frame to potentially complete England's strongest midfield for the upcoming tournament. He offered balance alongside Rice and Bellingham and oozed class in possession.

Those who watched the contest were blown away by the manner of his performance on what was his full international debut. As a result, Shearer does not believe there should be any debate about whether or not he is selected this summer.
"Mainoo definitely, considering that this season he's been unbelievable," Shearer told The Athletic, participating in a Q&A about who should make the England squad. "What a story, given where he was last summer to where he is now.
