Emmerdale actress Jessie Elland has given hint that her character Chloe Harris’ dad might appear on the show. Since arriving on the soap last August, Chloe has been mentally plagued by the horrid treatment of her dad after she left home to escape him. While Jessie’s character had hoped to move on from her traumatic past, she recently found herself in the grips of another menacing man — possessive stalker Noah Dingle, played by Jack Downham.
With Noah reminding her of her controlling dad, Chloe could be set to face the man himself for the first time onscreen, actress Jessie has revealed in a new interview. Speaking to Metro.co.uk, the actress said: “I think it’s so amazing that a character that has been off-screen has had such an influence in a character on-screen, if that makes sense!’ she enthused. “There’s so much stuff that could happen if we were to see him, it’s very exciting.” Jessie explained that her character Chloe has been left badly affected by Noah after discovering he’s been stalking her, as it has brought back scarring memories of how her dad treated her. “Her dad had her followed and watched.
She told Noah about that and how that affected her, so there was a lot for her to take in and deal with. And process,” Jessie continued. “I had that in mind, and how this affected her and Noah’s relationship, and she thought they were friends. Those were two really important dynamics in the story as well.” Chloe now has to deal with living in the same village as stalker and former friend Noah, with viewers left having to wait to see if and how he will be punished.
