Emmerdale fans surprised by double exit weeks after star arrived on ITV soap

Emmerdale aired a double exit in last night’s episode as Tom King and Belle Dingle said a temporary goodbye to the village.The veterinarian returned to the Dales in April but is leaving along with his girlfriend, Belle, to go on holiday. Luckily for viewers, it won’t be long before the couple return from their travels. In last night's episode of the ITV soap, Suni Sharma urged his uncle, Rishi, to make amends with Jai when Tom came out of the house clutching a small suitcase and said his farewells.
"Well there’s me all packed up for Venice tomorrow. Is he gonna be alright?" Tom asked, as Suni quipped back: "Take him with you, I’m sure Belle won’t mind. She does know that I’m gonna be your plus one yeah?" Actor James Chase was cast as Tom who arrived back in the Dales earlier this year.
He was desperate to rekindle things with Belle having dated her the last time he was in the village.Tom and Belle began a relationship after a brief kiss at Sandy Thomas’ 80th birthday party in 2013.They kept it a secret from their families at first, but when the truth came out the Kings and the Dingles kept them apart. When Jimmy told Tom he intended to send him back to Saudi Arabia, he and Belle planned to run away together. But in the end Belle returned to the village and Tom went back to the Middle East.
When Tom returned to the village this year, he and Belle embarked on another romance almost instantly. Viewers were confused about Tom’s changing face at first, but he’s already been played by four different actors.Tom first appeared in Emmerdale as a child and was played by Jack Ferguson between 2004 and 2007.
