Emmerdale fans are still reeling after Thursday (July 27) night's episode, with the romantic highs of Jai Sharma and Laurel Thomas' wedding followed by the tragedy of Rishi's shock death. The whole episode unfolded as Jai was finding out that Rishi, the man who he had thought of as his father all of his life, was not in fact his dad.

The aftermath of Rishi's death tonight (Friday) was rife with sobbing and grief, with fans and characters alike devastated by the swift exit of a much-loved character. Sympathy was in plentiful supply in soapland and on Twitter.
