Emmerdale fans think they have rumbled what will happen next after Jacob Gallagher inadvertently discovered Eric Pollard's diagnosis. There were emotional scenes in the ITV soap last week when Eric was seen telling Mandy Dingle that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
Viewers learned in flashback scenes during Lydia Dingle's lock-in at the Woolpack as she tried to get to the bottom of Craig Reed's death that Eric, played by Emmerdale's longest-serving cast member Chris Chittell, has been diagnosed with the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world.
Eric tearfully confided in Mandy, played by Lisa Riley, about what he had been going through recently, and how terrified he was feeling as he looked to his future. But despite his emotional state, Pollard swore Mandy to secrecy, determined to go it alone.

During Tuesday night's trip to the Dales, viewers saw Eric pushing partner Brenda away before a hospital appointment, in which he was joined by Mandy as she refused to let him go through it alone. Later, as he struggles to come to terms with his Parkinson's diagnosis, he brutally told Brenda he never loved her and when she questioned what had gone on, he told her she'd never come close to late wife Val.
