An EastEnders fan-favourite is set to return to Albert Square next week after leaving the soap six years ago.
Yolande Trueman, played by Angela Wynter, is set to show up at ex-husband Patrick's, played by Rudolph Walker, house and try to win him back following the end of her relationship with Anton. Angela is returning to the Square for the first time since 2017 after she made a surprise cameo.
"I don't think she's ever not had feelings for Patrick," Angela told Radio Times at a press event. "I think she's always loved him and thought she was going to greener pastures with Anton, but the greener pastures have failed her."
It was announced earlier this year that Angela would be reprising her role in EastEnders, but when or why was kept under wraps by BBC bosses. EastEnders producer Chris Crenshaw teased some 'unfinished business' between the former couple.
"Although we haven’t seen Yolande for some years, her departure from the Square and the breakdown of her marriage to Walford's living legend, Patrick, left some unfinished business between the pair," he said in June.
"We, therefore, thought it was important to explore a reunion between the two. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her back!"
Angela added: "Yolande is back in the Square! I have been really looking forward to playing her again and have had a beautiful time on set so far. I can’t thank the cast and crew enough for the warm welcome back!"
Prior to her 2017 return, Yolande left Walford for good in 2008 and moved to Birmingham, where she has remained for the last 15 years. However, in a shocking twist she is set to come back to Patrick after her relationship with Anton comes to an end.
