After nearly four years in exile, thousands of Bury FC fans are preparing for a day many feared would never arrive.
The Shakers take on Glossop North End on Saturday in their first league game at Gigg Lane since they were kicked out of the Football League in August 2019. More than 4,000 tickets have already been sold for tomorrow's momentous fixture at the club's spiritual home.
For many supporters, it will be an emotional afternoon.

"I'm absolutely buzzing," said lifelong Bury fan Gareth Evans. "I've got my one true love back.
"I've got one tattoo on my body and it says Bury FC. I was devastated about what happened.
"I thought tomorrow was never going to happen but I always lived in hope."
Bury's expulsion devastated not only the club’s 3,000 core fans, but the town as a whole. Amy Caufield, the landlady at The Staff of Life in nearby Manchester Road, said the pub had been 'a lot quieter' since.
"All the shops round here lost lots of money," she explained. "There was a lot of upset when they got kicked out. I don't think I've ever seen that many grown men cry in my life.
"It's going to be great to have the Bury fans back. I can't wait for tomorrow. We've already ordered our shirts."
Just months after the Shakers' demise, a group of fans rallied to form a new team, Bury AFC. The club went on to win promotion from the North West Counties Division One North during its first season. Meanwhile, a separate fan group worked to purchase Bury FC's name, assets and Gigg Lane.
