Sam Mitchell arrived back in Walford on Tuesday, 21 November and brought plenty of drama with her, leaving EastEnders fans thrilled. Sam (Kim Medcalf) made her highly anticipated return to Albert Square in surprise scenes, which saw her thrown out of the back of a van by a thug in front of brother Phil Mitchell, who just so happened to be standing outside at the moment she arrived. Dressed in one of her signature blazers, Sam tumbled to the floor alongside her suitcase before standing up to reveal a large cut across her cheekbone, with Phil looking at her in dismay.
Clearly taken aback by his younger sister's return, Phil wasted no time in quizzing Sam about her reasons for coming back to Walford after she jetted off to Spain earlier this year to take on a new business venture at a hotel. Sam soon revealed she'd been forced to come back after getting herself in trouble Spain with drug dealers, who she'd began working with. She told her brother she owed a drug boss named Camillo £100,000, leaving Phil annoyed but concerned for her safety.
Fans were thrilled to see Sam arrived back in the Square following her surprise exit back in April, with many taking to social media to celebrate her return. "SAM MITCHELL RETURNS #EastEnders," one viewer wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. A second wrote: "I'm so happy Queen Samantha Mitchell is back #EastEnders".
"God I love her so much! She's like in my top 5 female characters in the shows history. Kim just adds so much sass and attitude and also plays vulnerable in a really believable way. I just love her! #EastEnders," a third wrote.
