BBC EastEnders fans ‘rumble’ fake death twist as Nish leaves Eve for dead

Tuesday night's usual showing of EastEnders has been cancelled as BBC One's schedule was altered to make room for the Sports Personality of the Year awards. Disappointed fans of the soap may be happier to learn that there will be an extra episode on Friday to make up for the missing instalment.

As Christmas Day approaches, EastEnders fans have been left on tenterhooks waiting to see who will be killed at Christmas - and who the killer may be. Earlier this year a flash-forward saw Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) discover a dead male body in the Queen Vic.

With the nail-biting conclusion of EastEnders’ Christmas whodunnit storyline now just over a week away, eagle eyed fans are eagerly clutching at the crumbs of clues that may give an indication of which star will meet his maker, and who will deal the killing blow. So far, multiple theories have continued to swirl among fans - but after Thursday’s episode, more and more viewers are convinced that Jack Branning could be the mysterious victim to die, with multiple suspects in the frame to lay claim to his life.

In Monday's episode, Mitch Baker (played by Roger Griffiths) threw a surprise birthday party for Karen at The Queen Vic, inviting all their family, including his daughter Bailey Baker (Kara-Leah Fernandes), and grandchildren Mackenzie (Isaac Lemonius) and Mia Atkins (Mahalia Malcolm).

EastEnders viewers have been left less than impressed with a recent storyline on the soap, that saw Stacey Slater meet up with her stalker and attempted rapist Theo Hawthorne. Theo is set to face trial over his attack on Stacey, but Monday's episode saw the pair meet up ahead of the court date, with Stacey asking him to leave her alone.

Joe Swash is returning to EastEnders for the first time in 15 years - and the date of his arrival has now been confirmed. It was recently announced that Joe, 41, will be returning to the soap after more than a decade away from the hit BBC show.
