EastEnders fans have all been saying the same thing this week, as writers of the show appear to have forgotten about a huge health condition that previously affected fan favourite Alfie Moon. As regular viewers will know, Alfie previously suffered from a brain tumour, which required him to undergo surgery in 2017 after suffering from hallucinations, headaches and of course dizziness.Thankfully, despite nearly dying on the operating table, Alfie survived the procedure and made a full recovery - but fans couldn’t help but notice how it hadn’t been mentioned once, either by Alfie or his doctor, when he was warned he may be suffering from prostate cancer on Tuesday night’s episode, 15 August.
The episode first kicked off with Alfie Moon trying to smooth things over with adoptive son Tommy by apologising for being an absent father, but rather than build any bridges, things soon turned sour when he forbid him from seeing Perry. Noticing the change in Tommy’s behaviour as of late, Alfie went to go and speak to Phil Mitchell about how Tommy had hit him the day before, something which Phil soon admitted wasn’t the first time the youngster had lashed out at someone as he had previously hit his mother Kat Slater.
The pair decide that Tommy’s violence could be down to a lack of a health outlet to vent his feelings, and soon take Tommy to the Boxing Den for a fight with a boy his own age. After losing the fight, Tommy finally realised he was wrong to attack his father and apologised for his behaviour, but following the reconciliation, Phil noticed Alfie was still grimacing in pain and forced him to attend the hospital for a check up, just in case he had accidentally broken any ribs.
