A new family will make their debut in Walford next month when the Knights arrive to join new Queen Vic landlady Elaine Peacock in the Square. The clan haven't even arrived yet but speculation is already mounting on what could be in store for the trio.
EastEnders fans have predicted that they could be linked to the Christmas murder, which was teased in a groundbreaking flashforward scene earlier this year. Back in February, fans were shown a fast forward clip from Christmas Day with six women around a man's body in the pub.
One male character is going to be killed off during the festive period and Suki Panesar, Linda Carter, Sharon Watts, Stacey Slater, Denise Fox and Kathy Beale are all at the crime scene. Eagle-eyed fans noticed a new addition to the Queen Vic in the clip – a mysterious knight's costume behind the women.
When it was later revealed that the Knights would be arriving, fans quickly began theorising about if the newbies would play a part in the death. Show boss Chris Clenshaw has now had his say on the speculation.
Speaking to OK! and other members of the press, he said: "Now the knight in shining armour makes sense to everyone. When we shot that scene, the Knights weren’t in the scripts so everyone was speculating." Linda Carter actress Kellie Bright, 46, added: "Well I walked onto set and there was this b***dy knight, and I went, 'what's that?' "They were like it's something to do with the new family, and I was like, 'well what's it doing here?'" Chris then said "that's all I am gonna give you...." possibly hinting that the latest Walford family could be about to be caught up in the drama. The Knights will arrive on the Square next week when George Knight, played by Colin Salmon, arrives as Elaine's new
