EastEnders fans have been left heartbroken as Billy Mitchell's tragic final goodbye to his granddaughter Lola Pearce-Brown has been aired. As Lola's friends and family prepare to attend her funeral which will air on Tuesday, Monday's episode (June 26) gave them the opportunity to pen words of their choice on her coffin. Lola heartbreakingly passed away at the end of May after a battle with a brain tumour.

The truth first came to light after Linda Carter had grown suspicious about newcomer George Knight and asked Phil Mitchell and Callum Highway to look into the identity of both George and his “missing” wife Rose. Yet when police officer Callum checked the police database, he soon stumbled upon a large red flag, when it was revealed the file for Rose Knight was restricted.To make matters worse, Callum was later chastised by his superiors for looking into the situation, and was warned not to pursue the matter and to "forget he had ever heard" the name Rose Knight.
