Omar Choudhury, 22, allegedly hit 16-year-old Alisha Goup on Rochdale Road in Oldham, as she made her way to Oldham College.
Minshull Street Crown Court previously heard that on February 23 this year, Mr Choudhury reached speeds of 66mph in a 30mph zone. He was overtaking on the wrong side of the road when he clipped another vehicle which was turning right, before losing control and mounting the pavement, prosecutors allege.

Alisha, from Royton, was killed instantly after suffering head injuries as she was hit at about 1.30pm. Mr Choudhury is on trial alongside 24-year-old Hamidur Rahman. Both men deny causing death by dangerous driving.
Giving evidence, Mr Choudhury denied 'racing' down the road and told jurors that Mr Rahman had been pursuing him in his BMW 3 Series after he allegedly sent him threatening messages on Instagram.
He said that Mr Rahman had initially messaged him to ask about a girl, who was his best friend’s sister. Mr Choudhury said he relayed this to his friend, who in turn messaged his sister and told her to ‘stay away’ from Mr Rahman.
Mr Rahman, whose sister is married to Mr Choudhurys’ cousins’ brother, then confronted Mr Choudhury on Instagram and threatened to ‘cut his eyes out’, he claimed.
“I tried to call him to clear the situation up,” Mr Choudhury said.
“He was saying that I was saying stuff about him. He was not having it, he was not accepting what I was saying, he thinks I was telling lies, and I said “I swear to Allah, I’ve not said anything.”
