Boy, 18, fighting for life after motorbike hits kerb before smashing into wall

An 18-year-old boy was fighting for his life with serious injuries in hospital today after a horror motorbike smash in the early hours.
Greater Manchester Police said a bike the teenager was riding hit a kerb then smashed into a wall. Emergency services were scrambled to Offerton in Stockport at 1.35am on Saturday morning.
The teenager, who hasn't been named, was taken to hospital with what police described as 'serious injuries which are currently life-threatening'. He remained in hospital today, Saturday.

The A626 Offerton Lane was closed in both directions between St Simons Close and Woodlands Drive overnight for accident investigation work and only opened earlier this morning.
Police are investigating and have launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward. No further details have been revealed.
In a statement, GMP said: "Greater Manchester Police collision investigators are appealing for information after a road traffic collision occurred on Offerton Lane, in Stockport, at 1.35am this morning (Saturday 5 August 2023).
"A motorbike hit a kerb and collided with a wall. The motorcyclist, an 18-year-old man, sustained serious injuries which are currently life threatening and he remains in hospital.
