One half of the Hairy Bikers, Dave Myers' death was tragically announced on Thursday 29 February, with his TV partner Si King confirming the cause of death in a heartfelt statement. Speaking on Hairy Bikers: Coming Home For Christmas, the TV star said: “I've never gone on about what sort of cancer I've got because I feel like that's my business. I don't want newspapers to run a lottery on how long I've got to live.
That's not what I want. I felt so guilty because of the effects it's having on my wife Lil." Giving an insight into the impact of his treatment, he added: "I didn't want to eat.
I would fall over quite a lot. By the second lot of chemo my hair came out really quite radically. Your hair, eyelashes, everything just goes.” Sharing the news of Dave's death, his best friend and TV partner Si took to social media to with a statement which read: "Hi everyone, I’m afraid I bear some sad news.
