Dancing On Ice star Ryan Thomas took a double stumble during his performance on Sunday night (11 February) and thanked the audience for their support. The former Coronation Street star, 39, took to the ice with his pro skater Amani Fancy to perform their tricky musical routine. Shortly into their routine the live audience and viewers at home were on the edge of their seats as Ryan unfortunately fell over, only to take a second stumble seconds later.
Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern about his fall he made sure to thank the audience for their support. He said: "I’ve not hurt myself, I just hope my kids aren’t watching this one because it’s very embarrassing for me. Can I just say to everyone here, that is the most important thing.
Just hearing your voices, thank you so much." The mistake was reflected in their scores as they received a 5.5 from guest judge Johnny Weir, while Oti Mabuse and former professional skaters Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill rewarded them a score of 6.5 - landing them 25 out of 40. Despite the routine not going to plan and low scores, the judges applauded the soap star for recovering from the falls and reassured him he shouldn't feel "embarrassed". Johnny said: "Never be embarrassed by what you put out here in front of people because it’s performances like this that allow you to have the brilliant performances later on.
