Coronation Street’s real-life siblings James Jack Ryan and Rebecca Ryan are currently taking over the famous ITV cobbles. Jack plays Corrie’s Jacob Hay, while Rebecca is very much front and centre as one third of a complicated love triangle as scheming Lydia Chambers.
However, it turns out that they’re not the only two members of the Ryan family to have starred on the small screen over the years. In a recent interview, Jack, 25, revealed that the siblings’ older brother Charlie is also in the business, and began his career acting in a popular TV drama which aired on BBC One in 2003.

Asked how all three became actors, he explained: “I just copied the other two! My brother got into acting from a young age.” “And he was cast in the Paul Abbott drama State of Play, he was about 14 or 15 then.” The soap star went on to explain that it was Charlie’s breakthrough role that also led to Rebecca’s on-screen debut.
Jack revealed: “They were looking to cast his character’s younger sister, so my mum said, ‘He’s got a sister!’ and Becky got cast - she’d have been nine or 10.” Once Rebecca got bit by the acting bug, she never looked back, going on to land a part in another popular Paul Abbott drama - Shameless. Jack said: “Paul Abbott then did Shameless and asked Becky to read for the part of Debbie, which she got.” The star added that watching his siblings shine on the small screen encouraged him to get into the profession too.
