Coronation Street star Sally Carman supported by co-stars as she shares news of job away from soap

Coronation Street star Sally Carman-Duttine has been supported by her co-stars as she shared news of a gig away from her role on the cobbles. The actress is best known for playing Abi Franklin in the ITV soap after making her debut back in 2017.
But sharing some news on social media, Sally revealed she’ll be showing her off-camera skills as she’s bagged the position of director for an exciting new project. The soap star will be directing a stage production that will appear in JB Shorts Festival at Manchester’s 53 Two in October.
Sharing a poster from the production, Sally wrote in the caption on Instagram: "Very happy to be directing @lindsaywilliams8900 piece for the mighty @jbshortsplays this October at @53two. It runs from the 3rd to the 14th - be good to see you."

And her Corrie pals were among the first to share their praise and show their support. Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah Battersby, in the long-running show commented: "Love this! I’ll definitely be there." Sally's husband Joe Duttine, who also stars in Corrie as Tim Metcalfe, replied with a string of clapping emojis.
Anthony Crank, who starred as Abi's dealer Dean Turnbull in Corrie, wrote: "I’ll defo come support youse xxx," while Rachel Leskovac, who played Natasha Blakeman before moving on to Waterloo Road, added: "Already booked."
