Coronation Street fans think one of its stars has 'confirmed' the new person in charge of the Rovers Return after its reopening date was revealed. The iconic boozer has been boarded up for weeks now after Jenny Connor's sale to Newton and Ridley didn't go how she expected.
After selling to the brewery, all seemed well with Jenny able to continue running the pub with the help of her staff - Daisy Midgeley, Sean Tully, Glenda Shuttleworth and Gemma Winter-Brown. However, the jubilation didn't last long as they discovered Newton and Ridley were being sold to another company, Waterford Incorporated.
Later, Waterford's manager arrived to break the news that they were closing the Rovers for an extensive refurbishment and that the staff's contracts had terminated with immediate effect, leaving Jenny and the staff in a spin. With no legal way of changing Waterford's minds, the group, full of rage, thought they might as well go out with a bang before the place was boarded up for the foreseeable future.

Jenny later tried to re-apply for her job with Waterford's who were quick to turn her away and threatened her with legal action if she and her staff were ever to step foot in the pub again. However, she didn't listen, as she ended up the Rovers alongside Sarah Barlow when serial killer Stephen Reid struck before his death in shock scenes last month.
Following the drama, the Rovers has remained closed with little having changed inside following its last appearance on screen last week when new bad boy Mason Radcliffe broke in alongside Dylan Wilson and his pals.
