Coronation Street star Ciaran Griffiths has revealed why Damon Hay has returned to Weatherfield - and whether he has a future on the famous street. Viewers of the ITV soap were first introduced to the character back in December 2022 as he made his way onto the cobbles to find his son, Jacob Hay, just when his life was on the up and he had dropped his criminal past.

But when one of the drops went wrong and Jacob begged to be left out of the criminal schemes, he attacked his own son and threatened not only him but his then-girlfriend Amy Barlow, forcing him to flee from the cobbles with those he loved thinking the worst of him.
