Coronation Street star David Neilson has spoken out about his latest storyline as he's thrust back into forefront of the ITV soap when his character Roy Cropper is arrested for murder.
As viewers of the long-running show know, Roy has helped many troubled teenagers and adolescents, as well as putting other people before himself. But his involvement with Lauren Bolton is set to come back to bite him in upcoming scenes when her disappearance turns into a murder probe.
Lauren has been missing for a couple of weeks now after a mystery visitor appeared at her door on Valentine's Day. Concern was written all over her face as her heart appeared to sink over who was standing in front of her but viewers were never told who the visitor was.

Later, Lauren's love interest Bobby found her flat unlocked, with Lauren nowhere to be seen. He's since been doing what he can to try and find her and the suspicion about Roy begins when Bobby finds out that blood stains have been found on the curtains at Lauren's flat and informs DS Swain about the discovery - and that Roy had been deep cleaning the flat - who is quick to investigate.
In typical Roy fashion, his honesty doesn't help him when faced with DS Swain. In the episode of the ITV soap set to air on Friday (March 15) he is taken in for questioning by the police. When news of his arrest hits the internet he finds himself a virtual prisoner in his own home, as social media sleuths and vigilantes become intrigued by the case and the much-loved friend and neighbour's alleged involvement.
