Coronation Street's David Neilson reveals Roy Cropper's 'downfall' amid murder accusations

Coronation Street star David Neilson has revealed what Roy Cropper's downfall will be as he's quizzed on suspicion of murder. The much-loved character will find himself being accused of being involved in the disappearance and possible murder of former employee Lauren Bolton in upcoming scenes.
Lauren disappeared a few weeks ago after being let go from her job at the café by Roy before a mystery visitor appeared at her door on Valentine's Day. Concern was written all over her face as her heart appeared to sink over who was standing in front of her but viewers were never told who the visitor was.
But later Lauren's love interest Bobby found her flat unlocked, with Lauren nowhere to be seen. He's since been doing what he can to try and find her and the suspicion about Roy begins when Bobby finds out that blood stains have been found on the curtains at Lauren's flat and informs DS Swain about the discovery - and that Roy had been deep cleaning the flat - who is quick to investigate.

But as Corrie fans know, Roy's honestly doesn't always help him and that'll be the case when he's faced with DS Swain. In the episode of Corrie set to air on Friday (March 15) he is taken in for questioning by the police. When news of his arrest hits the internet he finds himself a virtual prisoner in his own home, as social media sleuths and vigilantes become intrigued by the case and the much-loved friend and neighbour's alleged involvement.
