Coronation Street were left 'sobbing' just a few minutes into Friday night's episode thanks to a devastating reminder shared on the soap's social media.
As usual, a new episode of the iconic TV show aired at 8pm on Friday, July 14, focusing on Sarah and Adam gathering their families in the famous Rovers Return Inn.
But bosses shared a video clip of a Corrie episode on Instagram and Twitter from the past that left fans heartbroken as they were reminded of a sad moment in the show's history.
Liverpool Echo reports that yesterday marked seven years since the episode that featured Kylie Platt's death.
Emotional scenes in the video showed David Platt determined to keep his wife conscious and talking until the ambulance arrived.
But tragically, despite trying his best, Kylie passed away moments before the emergency services came to her aid. Heartbroken David, played by Jack P Shepherd, could then be seen screaming and hysterically crying as he mourned his wife.
Captioning the post, Coronation Street said: "7 years today David lost Kylie [broken heart emoji".
And fans said they were reduced to tears after watching the clip.
Shah said: "Don’t! JUST DON’T! WHY ARE YOU RUINING ME LIKE THIS, CORRIE?!!" Zoe said: "Absolutely INCREDIBLE performance, still just as in awe as the first time x" and Jenny said: "Sobbing as much now as I was the first time I watched. What a performance from JP".
Millie said: "Still makes me cry all these years later" and Grace said: "Still not over it today and every time I watch it back I still cry".
