Coronation Street star Liam McCheyne's latest social media post was flooded with comments as he paid tribute to his co-star who he branded his 'best mate'. The actor is currently among the soap's younger cast being heaped with praise over its heartbreaking bullying storyline.
Viewers of the ITV soap have seen Liam as Dylan Wilson facing court after being caught up in the hateful actions of Weatherfield High bully Mason Radcliffe, played by newcomer Luca Toolan.
Mason has been relentless in his targeting of Liam Connor ever since his arrival on screen last year. While Mason was the cruel ringleader, the secondary school student hasn't been alone in the taunting and abuse of the fellow teen as he's been supported by his gang of mates, including Liam's former friend Dylan.

However, the infuriating bullying campaign, which included Mason pulling a knife on a terrified Liam, recently resulted in the heartbreaking discovery that Liam was contemplating taking his own life with his mum Maria Connor watching his every move as she did what she could to get help and justice for her son.
Last week, it was time for Mason to face court with Dylan backing Liam's claim that Mason had threatened his fellow teen with a knife. After Liam's emotional testimony, it was time for Dylan to be questioned over his statement which he initially took back following threats from Mason towards him and his family.
But he did the right thing in the end and Mason was informed he would have to face a custodial sentence as he had been convicted of possessing a knife before.
