A company running an 'inadequate' care home where less than £5 a day was spent on food for each resident donated £10,000 to the Conservative Party this year, it was revealed tonight. Burrswood Care Home, in Bury, has now been placed into special measures, having been rated as 'inadequate' by the Care Quality Commission after a visit in every area of its inspection.

Inspectors, revealed the report, spoke to key staff and finances were said to have been raised by them as 'a significant issue'.
