Cliffhangers are Emmerdale's bread and butter, and none more so than the one which saw Chloe, Mack and Charity's tussle with certain death in a little red car. Luckily, all three of the love triangle came back from that with few health problems.
But there was a definite heart problem - that is Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) pledging their love for each other. Mack having moved on to a relationship with his fiancée Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland), things are now complex.
Tonight's (Monday) episode saw Charity decide to head to Scotland to escape her feelings for Mack. But now that he's declared his love for Charity, he's determined not to let go.

When Chas Dingle revealed in The Woolpack that Charity was planning a flit to the north, there was no one who would have expected Mack's gesture divided fans - but was his trick of blocking her exit by laying down in front of her car romantic - or daft? Social media was alive with commentary as usual.
Owen @itzzzo_ could smell a game to come, posting: "Charity: "Right then Mack, bumper cars it is!" #Emmerdale" while Paul Gibbons @funkygibbons was just very irritated: "I can’t believe this Mack and Charity crap is still going on. #emmerdale"

Emmerdale viewers were left utterly baffled at the end of tonight's instalment, Thursday 30 November, as David Metcalfe (played by Matthew Wolfenden) finally left the village seemingly without his son Theo in tow. The character's departure had been teased for weeks, due to Matthew's sign-up in a pantomime over the Christmas season.
Shonda Rhimes, CEO and founder of Shondaland, who is behind such hit series as Bridgerton, Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal, said the writers’ strike, for her, “wasn’t complicated at all. “I consider myself to be a writer, first and foremost. So I was a writer on strike. And I was very aware that I [was] not on strike the way a lot of people [were] on strike,” she said.
Emmerdale viewers are convinced that a particularly heart-wrenching conversation between David Metcalfe (played by Matthew Wolfenden) and his elderly dad Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) was a foreboding glimpse at a tragic end in the former's exit plot. The ITV soap is gearing up to say goodbye to David during Thursday night's instalment, and fans have mixed feelings about the character's departure from the village. David has long been a fixture in the Yorkshire Dales, and has provided much comic relief and romantic drama with his various relationship difficulties.

Emmerdale fans had a number of questions - many of which started with 'how' - as David Metcalfe's heart broke after discovering the truth. The character has been suspicious of his son Jacob Gallgher's secretive behaviour, not knowing it's because he's seeing David's ex, Victoria Sugden.
Emmerdale viewers have watched as Mackenzie Boyd (played by Lawrence Robb) lost his son Reuben as Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) fled the village. Chloe was heartbroken when she discovered Mack was still in love with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and thought they could continue playing happy families. Unfortunately it seems there may be more heartache for Mack after Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw revealed Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is hiding a big secret.
Emmerdale fans were left doing a double-take as they thought they had spotted a character returning from the dead. The latest trip to the Dales on Wednesday night (November 22) saw Charity Dingle and Mackenzie Boyd were seen enjoying a romantic moment.
Christmas is set to be 'edgier' this year for Emmerdale and the New Year is set to get off to a mixed start for the villagers with tragedy for some as well as the arrival of new and familiar faces for some.
Just when you thought the Dingles have had enough to deal with in 2023, the drama for the clan is set to continue in the New Year in Emmerdale. This year, the ITV soap's famous family has faced plenty of trials and tribulations, recently seeing the return of Aaron and the shocking death of Craig Reed after her raped Lydia.
Emmerdale viewers have shared their theories over Mackenzie Boyd's (played by Lawrence Robb) fate after he finally broke up with Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) and told her the truth about his feelings for Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) during the latest instalment. Many are now convinced that the scorned girlfriend will murder her ex in the Christmas episodes. The character, who is also Moira Dingle's brother and baby Reuben's dad, bit the bullet and told Chloe he couldn't be with her any longer during a devastating moment for the now-former couple.
Emmerdale fans think they have 'worked out' a potentially sinister twist after they were rocked by a shock death. Fans were stunned to discover Rhona Goskirk's ex-husband Gus had gone against her wishes and used their frozen embryos with his new wife, Lucy.
Fuming Emmerdale fans are threatening to “switch off” following the return of Aaron Dingle to the ITV soap.
“Dancing With The Stars” fans aren’t happy with Carrie Ann Inaba after she seemed to be out of sync with her fellow judges on Tuesday night. Sadly, the situation led to Ariana Madix missing out on a perfect score.During Whitney Houston night on “Dancing With The Stars,” the contestants brought their A-games. Ariana Madix earned her best scores of the season with a Paso Doble danced to “Queen of the Night.” Fans loved it, and so did the judges.
