A 14-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a drugs offence after a teenager fell ill at a house party in Fife and died.
Jake Jones, 16, passed away after taking ill at a property in Kirkland Avenue, Ballingry, at around 11.55am on Sunday. He was rushed to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, but was tragically pronounced dead a short time later.
Officers have tonight confirmed that a 14-year-old male youth has since been arrested and charged in connection with a drugs offence. He has been released pending further enquiries.
Jake's death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances. Earlier this week his heartbroken sister Francesca Louise paid tribute to her "amazing, special and bubbly" brother.
