ITV's Lorraine issued an apology on Friday's show following an 'unforgivable on-screen error' which left guest host Christine Lampard red-faced.
Earlier in the week, the ITV daytime show had a special Dancing On Ice segment in which they chatted with the 2024 lineup reports the Mirror.
However, when chatting with Coronation Street's Claire Sweeney, the banned on-screen mistook the star for Steps singer Claire Richards.
It read: "Claire Sweeney, Steps singer."
The mistake was picked up by many viewers, with one Instagram account quickly sharing the error, writing: "You gorra know your Sweeneys from your Richards babe… Side note, can’t wait to see @claire.sweeney bringing the razzle dazzle to @dancingonice."
Claire who stars as Cassandra 'Cassie' Plummer on the soap, was quick to see the funny side, and replied: "Easy mistake it’s happened before... And I am a massive Steps fan 5678", adding: "I’m so flattered to be in Steps [heart emoji] and thank you for the support xxx."
On Friday's show, guest host Christine Lampard issued a tongue-in-cheek apology on behalf of the show, after the 'unforgivable on screen error'.
Christine, 44, said: "Now we have to apologise to all our viewers for an unforgivable on screen error on yesterday's show.
"In our behind-the-scenes special with Ria Hebden, we - I was not part of that - mistakenly put on screen that soap legend, Claire Sweeney, was in fact a singer in Steps! The internet is outraged - outraged!"
Christine then read out Claire's response, adding: "Always a trooper, we send our love to both the Claires!" Taking to Twitter, now X, after the apology one viewer responded: "Brilliant, Claire Sweeney from Steps…#lorraine."
The highly anticipated ice-skating competition will air on Sunday.
