Two young children were rushed to hospital after being knocked down by cars on the same busy Scots road just hours apart.
Police have confirmed that a 12-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle on Calder Road in Edinburgh at around 3.45pm on Friday June 17.
He was taken to the city's Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, however the extent of his injuries is not known.
Officers were then called back to Calder Road shortly before 7pm following reports of a girl being struck by a different motor.
The 13-year-old was also taken to hospital but her condition is not currently known.
Police Scotland have confirmed they are investigating the circumstances behind both incidents in the west of the city.
A force spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a child being hit by a car on Calder Road, Edinburgh around 3.45pm on Friday 17 June 2022.
"The 12-year-old boy was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People."
“Later, police were called to a report of a 13-year old girl being hit by a car on the same street around 6.50pm.
"She was also taken to the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People. Enquiries into both incidents are ongoing."
