Chelsea are adamant that defender Levi Colwill will stay at the club this summer despite reported interest from Manchester City and Liverpool.
Colwill, 20, is currently at Brighton and Hove Albion after being loaned there as part of the transfer that saw Marc Cucurella move from the south coast to west London during the summer transfer window. After completing a second temporary spell away from Stamford Bridge in as many seasons, Chelsea plan to have the player as part of next season's first-team squad, the PA news agency reports.
City and Liverpool are both credited with an interest in the left-footed central defender. But a three-year option included in the England under-21 international's contract seems set to keep him in the capital for the foreseeable future.

Another homegrown player City are reportedly 'ready to pounce' on is Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, with the teenager a top target ahead of the summer transfer window opening and City willing to submit a record transfer bid when given the green light to do so.
Football Insider reports they and Real Madrid are the two frontrunners for Bellingham's signature this summer. They claimed earlier this month that City are 'very confident' about being at the front of the queue.
The club have an offer of over £100million to persuade Dortmund to part with their prized player once the transfer window opens, a financial package they believe no other bidder is prepared to compete with. Bellingham could, though, still stay and sign a new contract with the German giants.
