Manchester United have reportedly been told they will not be able to enter talks with Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.
MEN Sport understands Erik ten Hag is on the lookout for a new striker in the summer with Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane the top target. However, should Spurs refuse to sell their star asset, United have drawn up a list of alternatives who they would be open to approaching.
According to Gazzetta, Argentina World Cup winner Martinez is on said list. It is reported that both United and Tottenham sent representatives to the San Siro to discuss the possibility of signing the 25-year-old after the Champions League clash with Benfica.

But, the firm message in Italy from Inter was understood to be: "No, we don’t even want to talk about Lautaro." Martinez has scored 21 goals in all appearances this season and, as mentioned, played his part in helping Argentina win the Qatar World Cup.
He has a further three years left on his deal so the advantage is firmly with Inter should United wish to progress with a transfer. Elsewhere, Ten Hag may be in a better position to bring Celta Vigo youngster Gabri Veiga to Old Trafford.
Spanish media outletAS report the Reds have already entered into discussions with the La Liga star over a potential move. The 20-year-old Spaniard has enjoyed a breakout season scoring nine goals and grabbing four assists from attacking midfield.
It is understood United are keen on Veiga but they will face fierce competition from Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Liverpool for his signature. Celta Vigo's youngster has another three years remaining on his deal.
