There were scenes of chaos in the Greater Manchester stage of the Tour of Britain after a dog suddenly ran out into the road and caused top cyclists to come crashing off their bikes.
Greater Manchester hosted the Tour of Britain Grand Départ on Sunday (September 3) with over 100 of the world's top riders setting off from Altrincham and riding a 163 km route around the region.
And excited crowds who were watching on as the cyclists made their way through the streets of Mossley at around 1.30pm suddenly gasped and screamed after a little dog was seen running out into the middle of the road.

Video footage shared with the Manchester Evening News shows the tense moment a small dog, which was not on a lead, appears out of a side road just seconds after the police are seen passing as they lead the route along Huddersfield Road.
The dog is then briefly seen moving of the way of the oncoming group of professional cyclists, before suddenly running back out again and causing huge screams and gasps from horrified bystanders.
Scenes of chaos then quickly unfold as a number of cyclists appear to get caught up in the huge pile up and are stalled by shunting into one another, with at least two seen tumbling off their bikes and onto the ground.
One man who saw the incident unfold said: "The dog ran in to the middle of the main pack and took a few riders out. It caused quite a bit of commotion. No-one was seriously hurt and you see the dog run off.
"This could have been a very serious accident if the dog had not run out the first time, just before the front runners, as I believe they slowed the following riders slightly.
