A 14-year-old boy who was arrested after a girl was stabbed at a high school in south Manchester last year has been released without charge, police have confirmed.

A woman fell to the ground after being hit over the head in broad daylight outside a B&M store near Greater Manchester. Police have today (January 15) released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to following the 'cowardly attack' on a woman as she walked on a busy town centre street.
The incident unfolded at around 12.50pm on Thursday, December 14. Merseyside Police says it was reported that a man ran up behind a woman outside the B&M store on Church Street, St Helens.
He then hit her over the head with an object, causing her to fall, before the offender walked off. Police say the victim, aged in her 40s, was not injured from the assault but was left very shaken.

Detectives believe the man in the image could have information to assist with their investigation. CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect responsible.
Detective Inspector Richie Shillito, of Merseyside Police, said: “This was an unprovoked and cowardly attack on a woman who was walking along the street, and she was left very shaken by the attack. I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has information which can help with our investigation to please contact us.
“I am also appealing to the man featured in the image, or anyone who recognises him to come forward. We believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
