Former Manchester United man Ashley Young admits he is 'still scared' of Sir Alex Ferguson 10 years after the fiery Scot retired from management.
Young spent nine years at United between 2011 and 2020, the first two of which were under Ferguson. The versatile left-sided player was a regular part of the squad for the former manager's final Premier League title-winning season in 2012/2013.
Since leaving Old Trafford in January 2020, Young has played at Inter Milan and Aston Villa before signing a one-year deal with Everton this summer. The 38-year-old is now playing under another no-nonsense boss in Sean Dyche.
The Toffees boss is one of few 'old school' managers, of which Ferguson was the best. And Young admits he still gets a tremble of fear when his former boss calls.

Asked who was scarier between Ferguson and Dyche, Young told TalkSPORT: “The boss, I’d say. I can’t even call him Fergie because he is still the boss.
“I said to someone the other day when he rings your phone and you see the boss ringing you… It’s like, turn the music down, you’re still scared of him when you’re answering. Even now!”
Despite being retired for 10 years, Ferguson continues to strike fear into former players - either his own or the opposition. The 81-year-old still commands respect when attending United matches at Old Trafford.
He may enjoy a reunion with Young when United face Everton later this season. The 39-cap England international will spend the season at Goodison Park hoping to keep the Toffees away from relegation.
