A car burst into flames on the M8 near Glasgow causing traffic chaos for drivers.
Emergency services raced to the M80 between Provan and Robroyston after the alarm was raised at around 7.30am on Friday.
A picture taken from the scene showed the front of the vehicle, which appeared to be a Range Rover, engulfed in flames. A huge plume of thick black smoke could be seen billowing up into the sky.
It's understood smoke affected drivers' vision on the road and delays were reported during rush hour as a result.
Fire crews sent one appliance to the scene before fighters extinguished the blaze. The cause is currently unknown.
No one had to be rescued from the car and no one was injured. The owner stayed with the vehicle while recovery was arranged.
