A van has burst into flames during rush hour this morning.
Fire crews raced to the A907 near Blairhall in Fife after the alarm was raised at around 8.20am on Monday. A picture taken from the scene showed the vehicle engulfed in flames.
Firefighters could be seen battling the blaze as a large plume of thick smoke billowed up into the sky. The road was quickly closed off by police while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
A second image taken after fire crew extinguished the blaze showed the van completely burnt out. It's currently unclear if anyone has been injured as a result of the incident.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We first received reports of a van fire near Blairhall at 8.18am on Monday.
“One appliance from Alloa was sent to the scene and we received the stop message at 9.13am. The incident was handed over to Police Scotland.”
Police Scotland confirmed they were called to the scene to assist fire crews.
