But Luncarty captain Danny Dobie is focused solely on the mission of advancing into the first round proper this weekend and continuing what has already been a special adventure.
The Bleachers hit the road on Saturday afternoon for a Scottish Cup preliminary round two tie against South of Scotland League outfit Newton Stewart.
It was an occasion made possible thanks to an exciting 3-1 win at home to Loch Ness in preliminary round one.
The whole experience, from qualifying last season thanks to a Cup Winners’ Shield win through to present day, has been memorable for experienced skipper Dobie.
“It was an incredible feeling winning both trophies last season,” he told the PA this week.
“Firstly because it was the first trophies for the club for many years and secondly because we qualified for the Scottish Cup by doing it.
“The first preliminary round was then a great occasion for the club. The whole place was buzzing and thankfully we got the win and everyone enjoyed it.
“This is my 19th season playing at this level but my first experience of the Scottish Cup.
“It’s going to be a very proud moment to lead the team out again and hopefully into the first round draw.”
Luncarty head into the game on the back of a 4-0 Premier Division defeat down at Haddington and are still chasing their first league win of the season after earning promotion.
But confidence within the group, managed by Jason McCrindle, remains high and performances have deserved more than the table shows.
“It’s been a big step up to the Premier Division for us this season,” Dobie explained to the PA. “There’s far more quality.
