Taylor Swift is the most translated artist in the world, according to a new study.The results were found as part of a recent study conducted by WordFinderX, which analysed data on 627,000 translations of 277,000 songs from more than 11,700 musical artists.The songs were ranked by the number of times that they had been translated from their original language, and artists were also ranked based on how many times their songs had been translated. Non-English-speaking artists were also ranked separately.Of the results, it was shown that Taylor Swift was the most translated artist globally, with fans translating 365 of Swift’s songs across 57 languages – the equivalent of nearly 5,000 translations in total.K-pop stars BTS came in second place due to their popularity and Korean lyrics, and Lana Del Rey and The Beatles came in third and fourth place respectively.Others on the list included Céline Dion, Julio Inglesias, Shakira and One Direction.

Netflix has released a new trailer for reality series Squid Game: The Challenge – check it out above.Based on Hwang Dong-hyuk’s Korean survival drama, the reality show sees 456 contestants from around the world compete in various challenges inspired by the series for a $4.56million cash prize.A synopsis reads: “As they compete through a series of games inspired by the original show – plus surprising new additions – their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them.”As shown in the trailer, the show’s anmatronic doll returns for Red Light, Green Light, while the elevated glass bridge and honeycomb games from the series are also represented.It also shows some of the dynamics between contestants, as one remarks: “You can’t trust anybody in here.”The 10-episode season debuts on November 22, with new episodes premiering weekly through to December 6. The series is produced by Studio Lambert and The Garden.The streaming service announced a second season of Squid Game was in development in June last year.

It’s an extended look at the competition series inspired by the hit Korean dystopian drama series, with some of the contestants showing surprise when they are “fake shot”, “Oh s**t” says one of the contestants when she takes an air bullet to the chest. South Korean auteur Chung Ji-Young came to the eighth London East Asia Film Festival on Wednesday night with his latest film The Boys, which opens in its homeland on 1 November. Based on real events, which saw three innocent country boys imprisoned in 1999 for a callous murder-robbery in North Jeolla Province, the film stars Sol Kyung-gu as detective Joon-cheol. Once known as “Mad Dog”, Joon-cheol has mellowed over time, and when he receives information many years later that suggests the real criminals have gone free, Joon-cheol begins a crusade for justice — bringing down the wrath of the area’s corrupt lawmakers, who begin a campaign of intimidation intended to destroy his career and credibility.

Jimin of K-pop boyband BTS has opened up about how the superstar group managed to overcome language barriers with their music.In a new interview with GQ Korea, BTS’ Jimin spoke about how the boyband were able to transcend languages with their music. Notably, BTS have topped the Billboard Hot 100 with songs in both English and Korean.“To get to where we are now, our team has faced considerable struggles,” Jimin said, “occasionally losing our way and experiencing conflict, but always supporting each other.”“The joy, sorrow, pain, delight, and love we’ve felt along the way – we’ve been candid about it all.

Concert film BTS: Yet to Come has been set to stream on Amazon’s Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories starting November 9. The K-pop superstars’ concert originally took place in October last year at the Asiad Main Stadium in Busan, South Korea as part of the city’s World Expo 2030 bid.
