Concert film BTS: Yet to Come has been set to stream on Amazon’s Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories starting November 9. The K-pop superstars’ concert originally took place in October last year at the Asiad Main Stadium in Busan, South Korea as part of the city’s World Expo 2030 bid.
Produced by HYBE, CJ 4DPlex and Trafalgar Releasing (the latter also handling overseas rollout of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour as well as previous BTS films), the movie includes 19 performances of the seven-member band’s hit tracks, such as “Dynamite,” “Butter,” “RUN,” “MIC Drop” and “Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment).”
Approximately 50,000 people attended the free concert to see RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook on stage. Trafalgar then released a version titled BTS: Yet to Come in Cinemas in February, resulting in a global theatrical gross of over $29M.
The band members last summer went on temporary hiatus and said they would fulfill their mandatory military service before reconvening “around” 2025. In September this year, they all signed new contracts with Big Hit Music, a label operated by HYBE.
“We are thrilled to partner with HYBE in welcoming BTS: Yet to Come to Prime Video,” said David Simonsen, director of Prime Video Southeast Asia. “We know the popularity of high-quality Korean content worldwide and we look forward to delighting consumers around the globe with BTS: Yet to Come. We are excited to see the concert movie and this genre find new audiences from different countries on Prime Video.”

Matthew Heineman’s documentary profiling Grammy and Oscar winning musician Jon Batiste and the medical struggles for his wife that have marked trying times in their marriage leads the pack of nominees for the 8th Annual Critics Choice Documentary Awards with six. The inspiring docu from Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground was picked up by Netflix after premiering and winning acclaim at the Telluride Film Festival last month. Not far behind are a trio of docus each with 5 mentions including 20 Days In Mariupol, Kokomo City, and Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie. And not to be ignored, this weekend’s boxoffice champ, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour which landed a nomination as Best Music Documentary. Patrick Frater Asia Bureau Chief Unrecognizable from her co-starring and breakout role in 2018 hit “Burning,” Jeon Jong-seo is the centerpiece, the tortured protagonist and the athletic avenger, but not the titular dancer, in Netflix movie and Busan International Film Festival selection “Ballerina.” In the hands of fast-rising director Lee Chung-hyung, Jeon is a coolly calculating female former bodyguard who, until roused, looks like she is half dazed. The suicide of her best friend, a sweet wannabe ballerina, who had been blackmailed into sex slavery by a nasty gang, however, is enough to set Jeon’s character, Ok-ju, on the path towards “John Wick”-like ultra-violence. While Lee never leaves the audience in much doubt as to where the film is heading – an early scene in a convenience store is cool, shocking and righteous – his “Ballerina” is typically Korean in that it spends most of the first two reels establishing Ok-ju’s moral standing and motivation for the bloodshed that is going to dominate the latter portions. Once justified, Lee pours it all on, with a dose of weapons fetishization, a horde of mostly disposable villains and heaps of neon-lit bloodshed.
