Britain's Got Talent enthusiasts were left scratching their heads during the show's first live semi-final. The stage was graced by a medley of acts including Sven Smith, The Trickstars, Trey Braine, Sslaubi Performance Troupe, Taryn Charles, Bikoon, and Stardust, with Innocent Massuki wrapping up the evening with a stellar act.
But what really threw viewers was the number of Golden Buzzer performers that took to the stage in one night.
Traditionally, each judge - Bruno Tonioli, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon as well as show hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly are allowed just one Golden Buzzer pick each. Yet, this time around, it seemed the rules were tossed aside as multiple judges hit the buzzer more than once.
The line-up of Golden Buzzer acts like Ssaulabi Performance Troupe, Taryn Charles, and Duo Stardust all performing in the same semi-final had fans flocking to Twitter with their bewilderment. One fan tweeted: "Are they doing all the golden buzzers tonight? Seems odd #BGT #BritainsGotTalent," while another posted: "What's with so many golden buzzer acts tonight? #BritainsGotTalent." Comments continued to pour in, with one saying: "May aswell rename it the Golden Buzzer show at this rate, featuring a man in a bag #britainsgottalent," and another noting: "Most of the golden buzzers are on tonight I noticed," reports the Mirror.
"Haven't watched the auditions. How many golden buzzers are there? ! Last time I watched they had one each and out one in each semi-final? ! #BritainsGotTalent," a viewer tweeted, clearly puzzled by the number of golden moments this season.
