Britain's Got Talent fans are devastated after an incredible young singer died after a devastating cancer battle. Unemployed Cumbrian vocalist Emma Jones was 23 when she shot to fame on the show back in 2015, singing Ave Maria by Andrea Bocelli. Judge David Walliams was impressed, saying: "You should be confident Emma – very few of us could ever sing like that." Amanda Holden went on to describe Emma's audition as "one of the most beautiful auditions that [the judges had seen] all day." Emma made it all the way through to the semi-finals, with her performance preceding by a heart-wrenching video where she said, "I live on my own.
I don't like it as such, well, I hate it actually. Growing up I wasn't confident at all. My first audition was so nerve-wracking." She went on to add: "I couldn't believe I got a standing ovation.
I was the best day in my whole, entire life." In the semis she sang Pie Jesu by Sarah Brightman, accompanied by a quartet playing guitars. Afterwards, Alesha Dixon commented: "It's so lovely to see you coming out of your shell," with Simon Cowell adding: "It was fantastic." But sadly it's been revealed on Emma's Facebook page that she passed away at the Cumberland Infirmary on Valentine's Day this year, following her cancer battle. She was just 32 years old.
A notice was posted to her page, saying: "I'm sorry to have to tell you that Emma Jones has died. She died on Valentines Day after being diagnosed with multiple organ cancer.
The doctor thinks it began as ovarian cancer and spread to other organs." Shocked at the loss, one person commented: "So sad Emma passed away. It breaks my heart, especially realizing she suffered with inner pain and deep insecurities.
