A bride has told how her family turned on her after she refused to give up her wedding venue to her pregnant sister. The woman had found her 'dream' venue and was busy planning her big day after getting engaged three years previously, as reported by The Mirror.
Her sibling was also engaged and had been looking around for the perfect place to get hitched that spring. But she wanted to bring the date of her wedding forward after she and her husband-to-be announced they were expecting a child during a family get together.
However, disaster struck when the sister asked if she could hijack the woman's venue due to the stress of planning a wedding at such short notice while pregnant.
Taking to Reddit, the woman said: "She said no that she hoped to move it to September. No big deal. We don't have many out-of-town guests, so they could attend to both weddings - no problem. Our nan was happy and asked my sister if she needed help planning such a short-notice wedding.
"My sister then turned around and said 'That's what I wanted to talk to you about. I was really really hoping we could kinda like take your venue. I really can not stress myself too much with planning a wedding while going to maternity classes. And I think it is so beautiful! It would really mean a lot to me'. It went silent. But everyone was looking at me expecting me to say 'Yes, of course, everything for my little sister!'"
The bride-to-be pointed out that her brother-in-law, who "everyone thinks is a great guy" was looking "very uncomfortable and told her that they had talked about this and that it was not okay to put me on the spot". And when she told her sibling that she "really had her heart set on the venue", the pregnant woman began crying and "stormed off".
