An eight-year-old son was left with a life-threatening bug after ‘eating eggs’ at a five-star Turkish resort, his horrified mother claims.
Natalie Parr, 36, said Jaxon Bentley is “a shell of what he used to be” after suffering kidney failure and salmonella following a stay at the luxury Eftalia Ocean Hotel, in Antalya.
Just three days into the one-week holiday, Jaxon was rushed to a clinic suffering from severe sickness, stomach cramps, diarrhoea and a high temperature. And at the end of his "nightmare" break, he managed to board a flight back to Britain where an ambulance was waiting to whisk him straight to hospital.

Jaxon was later found to have kidney failure and salmonella B, along with suspected salmonella meningitis, which can cause death and neurological damage. He spent several weeks going in and out of hospital - with Natalie saying her “traumatised” lad had still not fully recovered more than six months later.
The school dinner lady said: "Jaxon is back at home and while we’ve tried to go back to a normal life, we’re not there yet. He still cannot eat properly without pain.
“A once lively, outgoing boy went on holiday to Turkey and came back a shell of what he used to be and the change is simply heart-breaking. My son has been replaced by a quiet, subdued boy, still traumatised by the experience, with night terrors meaning he’s afraid to sleep as well as afraid to eat.
“The thought of any other family going through this is too much to think about, so we knew we had to speak out on this. If we can help prevent others going through the hell we are going through, that will be some comfort.
