Haaland has struggled in recent weeks, with just one goal in his last five appearances. The 23-year-old has been somewhat starved of opportunities and a recent stat has highlighted City's struggles going forward.
Twitter account @xGPhilosophy posted on Sunday afternoon that Guardiola's side had a lower expected goals (xG) total than Everton in their opening eight Premier League matches. Sean Dyche's side have 16.43 xG while the Blues have just 15.66.
Expected goals essentially calculates the chances of a shot being a goal, based on factors such as distance from goal, angle and which part of the body is used. It scores individual efforts between zero and one, with the higher number indicating a higher quality of chance.
As such, the calculation is suggesting that Everton have created more decent chances than City during the opening eight games
