Strictly Come Dancing contestant Layton Williams has broken hit out at rude comments from online trolls since he joined the BBC competition in an all-male partnership.
The 29-year-old has been impressing the judges since his first performance on the iconic ballroom alongside his professional partner Nikita Kumzin, as head judge Shirley Ballas told them on Saturday night's live show they were the "perfect partnership".
However, Layton's previous experience on the West End stage has drawn controversy, with many people saying it has given him an 'unfair advantage' against the other celebs. His first job was at the age of 12 playing the title role in Billy Elliot.
Addressing the backlash, Layton wrote on Twitter: "Instead of coming at me with hateful comments, use your energy to shower your fave celeb with love instead. Pretty sure it will make us all feel much better! #ChooseJoy x," alongside a star and yellow heart emoji.
He also shared two beaming snaps of himself rocking his afro wig following his and Nikita's high-energy salsa performance to Quimbara by Johnny Pacheco and Celia Cruz.
The acting star, who is also known for playing the role of Stephen Carmichael in Bad Education, was also at the receiving end of cruel online trolls following his Grease-inspired performance on musical week.
Layton played the role of Pink Ladies' Rizzo, where he impressed the judging panel and many fans at home for still performing his steps to a high skill despite performing in a pair of high heels.
Meanwhile, the Strictly family have lost another celebrity ahead of Halloween week coming this Saturday as Amanda Abbington revealed she has made the difficult decision to leave the show.
The actress was announced to have skipped Saturday's live show
