A Strictly Come Dancing star was treated by medics after she sliced open her leg backstage moments before performing. But despite the painful injury, she continued to go on to perform, and says that nobody in the audience, nor the judges 'had a clue' what had gone on just moments prior.
Angela Rippon has explained how she found herself with a nasty injury thanks to a very pointy pair of high heels on last weekend's (October 14) live show. The 79-year-old had decided to go through a last minute rehearsal with 28-year-old dance professional partner Kai Widdrington, when she accidentally cut herself.
But despite her nasty injury, ever the professional, Angela was determined to go on stage. Writing for The Telegraph, she explained what had happened.

Angela said: “Well Saturday’s Strictly is one that I won’t forget in a hurry – and I’m not talking about my shoe falling off or doing the splits. But the drama before I got onto the dance floor is something I don’t want to live through again.
“Before any of us go live onto the studio floor to perform for the judges, we have about 15 minutes off stage to do a final run-through. With just over five minutes to go, Kai and I were doing a last-minute revision of our steps, when my foot stuck on a sticky patch on the floor. When I looked down, my leg was bleeding from a cut on my right shin. The razor-sharp edge of my high-heeled dance shoe had sliced off a bit of flesh while I was doing a twisting manoeuvre.
