EastEnders' Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) is set to make a big decision in tonight's episode following her shocking pregnancy news.
The character confides in Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) after a fallout with her partner Zack Hudson (James Farrar), ahead of her departure from the popular BBC soap. Last year, Whitney and Zack were heartbroken when they discovered their unborn baby girl had Edwards' syndrome. Despite starting the process of termination, Whitney gave birth to their daughter Peach 18 weeks into the pregnancy.
After struggling with their loss, Whitney told Zack she didn't want to go through another pregnancy and was considering adoption or fostering. However, this week, Whitney was stunned to find out she was pregnant again. Still mourning for Peach, Whitney tells Zack she's unsure if she can continue with the pregnancy.
In tonight's episode, viewers will see Whitney opening up to Yolande about her decision and the baby news. Whitney visits Peach's tree at the allotment where she's joined by Yolande who shares her own experience with fostering, but Whitney soon breaks down in tears. As Yolande comforts her, Whitney reveals her inner turmoil, leading to some advice from her fellow Walford resident.
After a deep chat, Whitney decides to go back to Zack. But what will she do, and what will Zack's reaction be? Last year, Shona McGarty, who has played Whitney since 2008, announced that she would be departing the soap. It's unclear yet if Whitney's depture will also mean an exit from the Square for Zack.
Talking to Inside Soap about her depature, she shared: "It wasn't an easy decision because I've made so many friends.
