A man has been charged with murder two years after the death of a Wigan man. At around 7pm on 8 November 2019, Greater Manchester Police responded to reports of a disturbance at an address on Wigan Road in Leigh.

Police have launched an attempted murder investigation following a double stabbing in Manchester city centre.
Greater Manchester Police's Major Incident Team launched a probe after the incident on Dale Street at around 6.30pm on Wednesday (August 16). Two men - one aged in his 20s and one aged in his 30s - were rushed to hospital after the violent attack near the Piccadilly train station and the Rochdale canal.
One of them is fighting for his life in a critical condition. The other suffered serious injuries but is in a stable condition.

According to GMP's public incident portal, the incident is being treated as attempted murder. Three males were arrested on Wednesday night on suspicion of section 18 assault.
A 21-year-old man remains in custody and the other two males were released without charge. Horrified witnesses described seeing 'blood in the road' after the violent attack as a huge cordon was put in place.
Throughout Thursday (August 17) the area remained cordoned off, including on a towpath beside the Rochdale Canal, with evidence markers left beside debris on the ground. Specialist underwater search teams were also spotted at the canal, understood to have been part of the search for evidence.
