BBC has released a series of first look images of This Town, the new drama series from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.Set in 1981, the six-part series centres on a band’s formation against a backdrop of violence, and is described as a love letter to Birmingham and Coventry, featuring fierce new music.The cast is led by a number of rising stars, including Levi Brown (Loss and Return), Jordan Bolger (The Woman King), Ben Rose (Line of Duty) and Eve Austin (You) as its four young leads.This Town also stars Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), Nicholas Pinnock (Marcella), and David Dawson (My Policeman).In the first look images, the one above shows leads Ben Rose as Bardon Quinn, Jordan Bolger as Gregory Williams and Levi Brown as Dante Williams walking down a street.Another image shows Brown as Dante Williams in a record store, and in a third photo he’s pictured sharing a moment with Austin’s Jeannie Keefe in a dressing room.Dockery’s Estella and Pinnock’s Deuce Williams are also pictured getting ready to perform. Meanwhile, another images shows Rose, Parks, Brown and Austin together in a warehouse.This Town will be co-produced with Mercury Studios, which is part of the Universal Music Group, who is set to bring in high-profile musicians to “help lay the backdrop for Knight’s incredible story” (per the BBC).Mercury-nominated musician, novelist and poet Kae Tempest and producer Dan Carey wrote the songs performed by the band on screen.Of the series, Knight said: “It’s about an era I lived through and know well and it involves characters who I feel I grew up with.
Young carer took his own life after struggling with bipolar disorder

A carer who "loved looking after people" was found dead under a pier after struggling with bipolar disorder, an inquest has heard. Samuel Latham, 32, was discovered under Southport Pier on Monday, October 24 last year after police were called to the seafront by a member of the public.
An inquest into the death of the support worker at Bootle Town hall on Wednesday, September 13, heard how the Southport man was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at age 19 and had struggled with it in the months leading up to his death.
Liverpool Echo reports that he struggled with mental health and drug and alcohol abuse, and had a "history of episodic low moods". He was admitted as an in-patient in a psychiatric hospital in April 2022.
Samuel was then involved with mental health services. Doctor Rajeswari Venkatesan, a consultant psychiatrist who was treating Mr Latham as an outpatient, said at times Samuel would "discontinue medication" and before his death in September and October, he missed two appointments.
Parents Sharon and Roger Latham attended the inquest, they said they expressed concerns regarding his mental health and poor compliance with medication. Roger said more should have been done to inform them and help their son's mental health and drug use.
Paul Hart, clinical service manager at Mersey Care, said in order for someone to get treatment, they "have to want treatment". When re-iterating their son's mental health should have been taken into consideration, Mr Hart added: "You're not the first person, nor the last to say this, unfortunately this isn't the way the mental health act works."
At the hearing, it was confirmed that the risk assessment hadn't been updated as it "should have been". Mr Hart said there had been "lost
